Pax Logging API Library is a collection of logging APIs from different libraries/facades. It supports SLF4J, Commons Logging, JULI Logging, Log4J1 API, Log4J2 API, JBoss Logging and Avalon APIs. Additionally, Pax Logging specific library is available as backend implementation with its specific configuration mechanisms, but it's not required.

Pax Logging backend implementation based on Apache Log4J. It provides Log4J specific implementation of PaxLoggingService interface and Log4J specific configuration methods. Users may customize Log4J behaviour (appenders, layouts) by creating fragment attached to this bundle.

The Pax Logging API Library is to allow for the Pax Logging Service to be reloaded without stopping the many dependent bundles. It also contains the OSGi Log Service API and the Knopflerfish Log API.

Pax Logging Log4J Support is a bundle that enables support for Log4J and connecting the API to the Pax Logging Service. See documentation for details.

Pax Logging Client is expected to be embedded into OSGi bundles, for that bundle to gain access to Pax Logging Service via Log4J API, Jakarta Commons Logging API or Pax Logging Service API.

Pax Logging JCL Support is a bundle that enables support for Jakarta Commons Logging and connecting the API to the Pax Logging Service. See documentation for details.

Pax Logging Service is a Log4J driven service that supports Jakarta Commons Logging, Log4J, Avalon Logging, SLF4J and Pax Logging clients. Note that all this clients must use the Pax Logging Client library in the proper way. See documentation for details.
